In presence of
Patrik Syversen, Saturday October 31. Confined to an isolated house deep in the Norwegian forest, three sisters receive an unexpected visit from a stranger whom they decide to help. A truly chilling family portrait.
After another suicide attempt by their younger sister Kristine, Esther and Cecilie take her to the family’s country house to get some fresh air. There, the two sisters learn of their mother’s death and dread having to break the news to their youngest sister, who is still emotionally unstable. That’s when a local man, Lukas, whose car has broken down, approaches them and asks for help… Meticulously staged in elegant black and white, Patrik Syversen’s new feature film reimagines the horror genre with fierce mastery. Tension and chills abound in this relentless thriller with a stimulating narrative complexity, influenced as much by Ingmar Bergman as by Nordic literature.
