Two retirees living in the English countryside begin investigating the browning of a stream—and are about to uncover a government scandal. A shocking investigation starring David Thewlis and Jason Watkins.
At a time when our ecosystems are being destroyed at an alarming rate, this British series sheds light on a major water pollution case driven by the ruthless capitalist machine. In 1999, during a trip to the beach, the youngest daughter of an English family falls seriously ill after coming into contact with contaminated water. In 2016, Ashley and Peter, two retirees who moonlight as detectives, embark on a dizzying investigation that leads them on the trail of reckless and greedy corporations. A hybrid series combining fiction inspired by real events with documentary footage, Dirty Business rigorously documents an ecological and human disaster.
