INSIDER OUTSIDER is an interactive musical VR experience inspired by the life and work of Henry Darger, an outsider artist whose work remained unknown until his death. Co-produced by Lucid Realities and Science & Mélodie, it is part of OUTSIDER, a transmedia project led by musician Philippe Cohen Solal (Gotan Project).
Welcome to the rich and vibrant world of Henry Darger, a major figure in Art Brut whose monumental body of work remained a secret until his death. Inspired by his paintings and writings, Insider Outsider plunges us into the heart of the conflict between the Vivian Girls—seven young heroines—and the forces threatening their world. To protect them, the audience interacts with music and nature to gradually restore harmony. Conceived by Philippe Cohen Solal, co-founder of the Gotan Project, this virtual reality experience transforms Darger’s hallucinatory imagination into a musical, visual, and interactive journey.
