Having just given birth to her first child, Tania feels unable to care for her and is overcome by an inexplicable sadness. She sets out with her mother in search of answers.

Unable to understand the reasons behind her postpartum depression—which was preventing her from caring for her daughter—Tania decides to reconnect with Christine, despite her resentment toward this mother who had failed to care for her. As they investigate Christine’s past as a child in foster care, the two gradually shed light on a dark chapter in their family’s history—and in Switzerland’s. Inspired by real events, this new RTS series invites us to examine the lives of these foster children who, forcibly taken from their parents as late as the 1970s, were exposed to abuse and violence by a falsely altruistic social policy.
