After his wife’s death, Guan immerses himself in the novel she left unfinished. Set amid misty forests and Rukai mythology, it is a virtual reality journey into the heart of grief, love, and memory.
After the sudden death of his wife, Guan discovers the unfinished novel she left behind, in which the sacred legend of the Rukai people intertwines with that of the clouded leopard—an endangered species from which he is said to be descended. Thus begins a surreal journey through mist-shrouded forests, ancient trees, and inner landscapes, where grief, memory, and mythology blend together. Adapted from a short story by Taiwanese writer Wu Ming-Yi, this virtual reality work by filmmaker Singing Chen transforms literature into a space to be explored. An intimate journey, awarded the Venice Immersive Grand Prize in 2025.
