In an abandoned family home, Lyn accompanies her grandfather on a search for a pigeon’s ring. An intimate exploration of memories, regrets, and what is passed down from one generation to the next.

Lyn accompanies her grandfather to the old family home, which has been abandoned for years, to find a pigeon’s missing ring. As they explore, the rooms come alive with memories and reveal another side of this authoritarian man, shaped by his obsessions, his regrets, and his era. Inspired by director Yuqi Zhang’s family history, The Pigeon Ring transforms the setting into a space of memory to be explored. An intimate story about family ties and what is passed down from one generation to the next, it won the Venice Immersive Grand Prize in 2026.
